Cris Ramos Greene
My name is Cris. I live in Bryson City, NC with my husband Jaime, our 2 kiddos & pup.
When I started this blog in January 2018, I was at a life crossroads place. My first blog, a collaboration with my soul sister launched in 2015 called The Emerald Journal, had officially shut down and I left my day job at a creative ad agency in Miami’s art district. I wasn’t sure where to go creatively, so I started a web site under my own name and began to play as I figured out what I’d do with myself.
In July of 2018, we decided to change our life and move to a small mountain town called Bryson City, NC. We wanted a completely new scenery, so this sounded a good a place as any for a fresh start.
In August of 2018 we got married in Toledo, Spain! Yes, a mere few months after moving across states. I appreciate a creative challenge.
In 2019, Jaime and I started our YouTube channel, The Greene Home, chronicling our move to the mountains. During that time, I quietly worked on what would become my first published book.
In September 2020, Embrace That Girl, my memoir, was published in the height of a global pandemic. I felt a strong urgency to put my work out there because nothing was certain and everything felt questionable, including how much time we have to do the important things.
In July of 2021, we opened our vacation rental, casa del pueblo in Bryson City, NC. Come stay with us in our suites or mountain home.
