If you know us, you’ll know we have been under construction for some time. We are building two suites in the bottom floor of our home. It’s been challenging and fun, pretty much all the emotions you come to expect when undergoing a project of this scope!
Jaime and I made the decision to build out the bottom floor of our new home here in Bryson City to accommodate visiting guests. We knew the extra space would come in handy and part of our move was always about bringing people to the Smoky Mountains, so they can experience the peace, connection and harmony that’s here.
The journey to build these suites has been long and slow… and seemingly never ending. But every time I’m tempted to be impatient, I remember what so many artists do: it’s about the process, not the end result. The end result is but a brief satisfaction, a temporary respite before you move on to the next project. We all spend the most time in the process of anything that we create.
Phase 1 – An empty Shell
Phase 2 – Studs outlining our suites
Phase 3 – Drywall!
Phase 4 – Painted walls!
