The story of why we moved to Bryson City, North Carolina – VIDEO!

Our new Youtube Channel is live!

I invite you to our Youtube channel: The Greene Home. And that’s exactly what our channel is: our home, our life, and everything starting over entails since we became Bryson City locals. Plus, all the great places we’re discovering.

Why we moved to North Carolina

This is a BIG topic I get a lot of emails and messages about, specifically follow ups to my article on the pros and cons of moving to North Carolina (from Florida). Here’s a summary from both of us of why we uprooted our lives and moved to The Great Smoky Mountains.

I invite you to subscribe, comment and share! We’ll be sharing: our lives here in Bryson City, NC, how settling in unfolds, construction to our home, becoming locals, discovering all the interesting places around us, beer and art culture, you name it 🙂

UPDATE / ONE YEAR LATER: LIFE IN BRYSON CITY

Why we live in the mountains of North Carolina

Here’s a short 3 minute video about why we live here 🙂

Q&A: What’s it like to move to a small mountain town in your 30’s

Why We Started A Youtube Channel

A few weeks ago, I shared Jaime and I were thinking of starting a Youtube channel. We’ve been wanting to do something creative together for a long time and capturing our life here in Bryson City has been so much fun!

The Greene Home is made with love, joy and with the spirit of play. Our intention is to open up about our experiences here in North Carolina with the hopes of connecting with other people near and far. Above all, this channel is a creative outlet for us. I love to edit. He loves to frame the right shot. We get a ton of satisfaction from sharing our videos with family and friends afar. If you’re curious about the process or have questions about moving to and visiting North Carolina, shoot me a comment below! I’m happy to share our experience with you.

xoxo,

c.

Hi Cris, I am so glad you are experiencing beautiful Bryson City, NC. My dad was born there, my grandmother lived there all her life and is buried on “schoolhouse hill” in the Bryson City cemetery with many of my relatives. There’s a group called “Friends of Bryson City Cemetery” that cares for the place where so many who built that little town rest. I visited every year as a child, and still do as I’m able. I encourage you to embrace such a remarkable place with wonderful natives and transplants too! I enjoyed your blog. — Janet

Hey Janet! Thank you SO much for sharing this… and another wholehearted thank you to your family for making this amazing little town! We really love living here and all the incredibly kind-hearted locals we meet. So glad you’re making it up to Bryson City when you can. Now that it’s Christmas season, downtown looks like a dream 🙂 Much love and gratitude!
